The Ocean 98 Cash for College Fund awards a scholarship each year to an outstanding high school student in Worcester or Wicomico in Maryland or Sussex County in Delaware. Chicken wings have become such a popular American snack that the game is impossible. or they drink beer without them. Although wings can be found almost anywhere, they are not created equal. Cluckin’ Right Chicken Mathieu Saint-Louis sets his wings, then dips them in flour and spices and fries them to order. As a result, the wings are juicy, juicy and meaty, which does not require a brush or mask, as far as the St. That’s not to say he doesn’t offer sauces (on the side!), including buffalo, barbecue, honey mustard, and a sweet and spicy version of Frankenstein. Thursday through Sunday at Wynwood Brewing Co., where you can enjoy freshly brewed local beer.

Want to eat like a chef, Rick Ross? Eat Chick’N Jones. Amaris Jones has worked as a personal chef for Ross and many celebrities. His fried chicken was a hit at the Motown-inspired restaurant on South Street in the Design District. It closed in 2013, but Jones has vowed to return. It took some time, but she made good on her promise in the summer of 2021 when she opened Chick’N Jones in the Time Out Market in Miami Beach. Here, Jones marinates his bird with mustard and herbs for 24 hours, then roasts it until golden brown. Feeling hot? Go for Honey Honey Chicken, a Nashville-inspired classic. Pair your choice with a coleslaw for a healthy balance or with a side order of fries. (Seriously, you’re not here to count calories, are you?)

Mac ‘n’ cheese might be the best food in the world: it’s cheesy, full of carbs, and offers a taste that only your love partner can. Batch Gastropub’s ‘Mac Attack’ stands out as the perfect solution for your Tinder app. “Gnocchi mac” is tossed with aged Gruyere, which coats the pasta like spandex in a keg-lift receiver. For a final kick, sprinkle the pan with Doritos. You can customize your attack with any number of toppings, including grilled chicken, pulled pork, steak, shrimp, veggie fries, whiskey pecan candied bacon, egg, and/or truffle oil (the list of options is long and incredibly hedonistic). In fact, there are so many possibilities that you will wonder if Willy Wonka has changed his career paths. (In addition to the Miami restaurant, Batch uses its “Mac Attack” at its Delray Beach gastropub and two Batch Southern Kitchen & Tap locations in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.)

Choice, choice. That’s what we offer at this restaurant in the Citadel Dining Hall in Little River, and it makes a big difference. Can’t decide whether to start the bowl with rice or greens? They let you do both. Want to add salmon or tuna? They let you do both. Do you want to add all the vegetables or none? Sauces and/or seasonings? It is entirely up to you. Everything is fresh and cool, like air conditioning in South Florida. (Except for the avocado half, which is always so ripe and soft that you’re tempted to put your head on it instead of your stick.)

Ceviche belongs to the same category as tacos and sushi: dishes in which our city excels. But not all are great. At Ceviches by Divino, brothers Christian and Frank Encalada create addictive variations that combine hot and cold with fresh flavors. The short menu offers some authentic options: fat cubes of corvina marinated in freshly squeezed lime juice, seasoned with Peruvian limo chiles, coriander and fresh chives, and served with sweet potato wedges and chocolate (giant Peruvian corn). Try the trio de ceviches, traditionally smaller portions, topped with ají amarillo and the “Divino” with a tropical side of mango and tiger-kissed avocado.

When the pandemic hit, Miami native Jeffrey Budnecki stopped working as a freelancer. A self-proclaimed backyard barbecue enthusiast, he used a decade of grilling experience to say, “Apocalypse, let’s just grill.” What started with a series of orders and a 22-inch Weber Smokey Mountain has since become one of Miami’s favorite pop-ups, serving a variety of meats that now come from the chef’s professional smoker. Along the way — featuring the 2021 South Beach Wine and Food Festival — it’s promised to help redefine South Florida barbecue. That’s why Budnecki combines the flavors of his Brazilian-Argentinian roots and the Cuban heritage of his wife Lara. That means pulled pork in a colada-infused barbecue sauce called “oro negro”; massive Dino beef ribs dusted in house-made coffee and finished with a glaze of Chef Bustelo’s own infused Cafecito sauce; and four-hour slow-smoked pork belly with charred end cooked and glazed in their own “Guava Lava.” Sides are Lara and her mom’s specialty: a simple choice of homemade mac ‘n’ cheese or cornbread. Find them every Sunday from 14:00. until sold in Unseen Creatures
