Best Resorts In Sayulita Mexico – What better way to start your morning on vacation in Mexico than waking up to the sound of morning ocean waves as pink and purple shadows dance overhead?

The jury is out – I think there is no better way! And that was one of my favorite parts about my time in Sayulita.

Best Hotel In Sayulita

The great thing about spending a few days in Sayulita is that you have tons of options to choose from.

And you can find yourself right on the beach, in the heart of the city where it all happens, or in the hills in a quiet retreat with a beautiful view below.

But you have the option of villa-style accommodation with thatched roofs, bamboo walls and open kitchens!

Unlike the big restaurants of Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta, the hotels in Sayulita are mostly boutique style, sometimes called the hotels (very nice).

So if you’re looking for a break from the big buildings of the bustling city, Sayulita is the perfect choice 45 minutes north.

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Sayulita, I’ve broken this list down into the following options based on your travel style or budget:

This place is not only on the beach, but also on one of the streets that lead directly to the city center.

Beachhouse Vacation Rentals

It’s also one of the best options if you’re on a budget but still want an ocean view. Some rooms have a private terrace with an unparalleled view.

Insider Tip: This place is a hop, skip and a jump from Don Pedros Restaurant and Beach Bar, the first place in Sayulita to have drinks (the margaritas aren’t real) and people watch!

We stayed here and can’t wait to come back. It is a quaint boutique hotel with less than 12 rooms, and the sea view rooms are very cheap.

You get your own balcony with floor to ceiling patio doors with 360 panoramic views and a welcome drink on arrival!

Best Of Sayulita, Mexico

Insider Tip: Sayulita Surf School set up their tent a short walk from the hotel and we got a great 2 hour lesson from these guys.

We came back the next morning and rented surfboards and the hotel left our beach chairs and umbrellas for free when we needed a break!

If you’re looking for something more modern or planning a longer stay, try La Esquina, which is described as a residential-style hotel, meaning fully equipped kitchens in every room.

They also provide water dispensers so you don’t have to worry about having enough bottled water, which is also a plus.

Hotel Vista Oceana Sayulita, Sayulita

With an on-site pool and a 3 minute walk from the town centre, you can’t go wrong with this option.

Insider Tip: The kitchens here are equipped with blenders, so you can go to the market and buy fresh bananas and pineapples to make your own.

Now we haven’t lived here but this property is owned and managed by the same family that owns the villa we stayed in in Bucerias.

And since we love this place so much (and based on the rating), I think this place is still a great choice.

The location is great, one block to the beach and one block to town.

And if you’re in Sayulita to learn to surf (or at least give it your best shot), they offer discounts on lessons and rentals. There is also a yoga studio on site for all the yogis traveling there!

Room Tip: Try to get a bathroom or any room on the second floor at the back for privacy.

Sayulita Mexico Resorts, Hotels & Villas: 15 Best Choices

This is a charming little house strategically located on the beach and built into a hill. There are many room options here.

You can get a standard room with an ocean view or you can choose a casita-style bungalow with a forest view.

Hotel tip: Since the rooms are built on a hill, there are many stairs to climb. But it does mean you get some amazing views, especially watching the fishing boats go out at sunrise!

Not only is this apartment centrally located in town and 3 blocks from the beach, but it has access to a rooftop lounge.

Bonus mention: I recommend Hotel Peix again as their rooftop bar is one of the best in town!

Sometimes the best place to book a trip to Mexico is to find a fun and unique place to stay! Here are some such options:

Room Tip: This is the perfect place to rent if you’re traveling in a group. It can accommodate 6 adults comfortably. Guests have access to a swimming pool hidden in a peaceful garden

If you want to be outside, listening to the waves and the birds chirping, this Airbnb is as close to a treehouse as you can get!

If you’re looking for luxury but authenticity, this place should fit the bill. What’s amazing about this place is that you get sea, city and forest views with your own private pool.

Just look at the photos of this penthouse with a yoga studio in the middle of the property.

Complete with an infinity pool and its own outdoor hot tub, this place is the definition of luxury.

Hotel tip: If a penthouse is out of your budget, you can rent other rooms here for less.

You can also book a massage at a reasonable price with a sea view or use the paddle boards or surfboards for free.

Villa Amor is located on the edge of Sayulita’s main beach, and as soon as you step foot on this property, you’ll know why it’s the perfect getaway for couples or honeymooners.

It is also very close to Playa de Los Muertos, a hidden gem away from the main beach in Sayulita.

In a quiet location on the edge of the center is this beautiful villa. With a fully equipped kitchen, private patio and pool, it’s perfect for a long stay.

This is probably the best bang for your buck. Although it lives up to its name (being close to everything), it is far from the famous bars that are noisy at night.

It has been recently renovated and most of the rooms are decorated in a spacious bohemian style, almost similar to what you can find in Tulum.

The Best Sayulita Hotels

Anyone who has stayed in Sayulita before will remember that this hotel had rooms named (and decorated) after classic rock bands.

This was our second choice if Hotel Peix was not available. Although not on the beach, it is in the center of town and a few minutes walk from any restaurant or the main beach.

This place is one of the best options in town and has the best breakfast in Sayulita!

We stayed here on our last morning and thoroughly enjoyed the homemade breakfast prepared right in front of us on the charming outdoor patio.

If access to breakfast and great coffee is important when choosing a hotel, this is the place for you.

Room tip: Try to get a turquoise room with live wood! Or a room with an outdoor entertaining area.

For a reasonable price, you can get a room with fresh air and good Wi-Fi for about $50 a night. If you are comfortable with small equipment, this is a good choice because it is close to everything.
