We found a great cheeseburger at this small, unassuming place tucked away in a shopping center on Calle Tequesta. The American Cheeseburger, the simplest of Buco Kitchen and Bar’s five burger varieties, had a nice char on the outside and a pink juicy interior. We had it with American cheese. It was cooked to a perfect medium, with notes of smoke in every bite. (Special deal alert: Buco is offering a “Burger Wednesday” special, and you get $5 off any burger.)

You can smell the burgers the Brass Ring is making from a block away. Some of the best hamburgers in the county have been prepared here for 29 years. There is no big secret behind their taste. Last Saturday we really wanted to smoke a hamburger in the yard. But who will fire up the grill at a temperature of 90 plus degrees? A quick search of the local menu led us to Buco Kitchen and Bar — and a great cheeseburger.

Buco is a small, unpretentious restaurant tucked away in a shopping center on Tequesta street. I visited this location a few years ago when it was home to Ocean Bleu, a charming seafood-focused bistro that closed in spring 2017. Buco opened in late 2018, across the square from sister restaurant Locanda Rustica, both owned by chef/restaurateur Claudio Gottardo. , originally from Como, Italy.
